The Loreo has TWO lenses, the mirrors are to increase separation.  A lot
of people think it is simply  a beamsplitter, but if you examine it
without film you will see that it is a rather cunning system.

No, two box cameras taped together are just as true.

 A real advantage, Realist prints are a pain.  If you get 4x6 prints your
image size will just about equal that of the realist.
