I'm not terribly good at either, although worse with cross-eyed viewing. I do
find it helps to hold my finger or a pencil or some simlar object well in front
of the image and focus on that, and then try to shift my vision to the picture
itself. Colorful language is also helpful with your irritation, if not your
viewing.
