Very well put there Gregory. I will go further and mention everything in
3d that is supposedly new is old and everything has been done already.
If you don't believe me (this is adressed to old-timers) check out some
old 3d books from early century or even electronic books from the 50's,
where experimenters where trying to develop a 3d tv. I looked at a recent
(this was a couple of years ago)issue of Popular Science, and hey they
are describing a supposed new 3d tv technology, that is similiar to what
they did 30 years ago. In both cases the developers mention it will be out
shortly. So maybe since everything has been done already, we should all
call it quits and go on to another past-time.
By the way, some old timers like me (old timer in 3d, not on the digest)
have not had the chance to rehash this 3d stuff with others. In any case
an old timer does not constitute someone that has heard or knows everything
as I can well attest have alot to learn and am still learning. I have
read some of the old digests and yes things are re discussed but there
are always new angles in the new discussions which are very informative.
Maybe some of the old-timers should re-read the postings because they seem
to be missing alot. They even mentioned themselves, they skip alot.
Often times I noticed discussions that have already has been covered
in a very recent posting, not months ago but a few digests ago, and the old
timers don't seem to have noticed it was already covered. Sometimes I repost
basically the same thing over and sometimes I don't if I think it was
covered well enough.
That's all for now, gotta go watch the new season television shows tonight.;-)
Gabriel
P.S. I don't refer to all the old timers on this list. Only the ones that
think its time to move on. That will be a sad day if it happens because
they will loose, as well as all the newcomers.
