Viewer vs. Projection - Which looks better?

One (final?) thought on the subject... Allan Carrano is working under
the assumption that 3D slides look much better in a viewer than in
projection. Good assumption. In my last posting I wrote: "Some
slides are good both in projection and a viewer!" Of course, some
slides look better in projection than in a viewer!

My good friend Kathy attended a couple Detroit competitions and
saw my slides projected. One day she visited at home and, after
seeing the same slides in the viewer, she commented that they
looked better in projection.

That's happening for a couple of reasons: 1) we tend to prefer
the images as seen at first, 2) these slides were selected to
work well projected, 3) because of subject matter (neon lights
mostly), the darker projected image looked better than the brighter
viewer image where distracting details were visible.

Our impression of what is good/better is affected by the viewing
medium. There is no way around that.

A little math for John B. ;)

judgement = image + viewing method
