I guess that's a rethorical question ;-). Yes it does and I use it all the
time for daylight exposures. I also know that in the bulb era people had no
automat and had to calculate distances and F-stops all the time. But I'm
used to rely on the automat that funcions at F4. So you're right, I could
use an even smaller F-stop (2.8 at 30 sec shutterspeed) with 50 ASA film but
that limits even more on depht of field.
Pehaps I should start to use the manual mode and be able to use a bigger
F-stop then F4 and get even sharper immages.

Ps: I am told not to trust the VM distance indicator. At a given apperture
the flash never reaches the indicated distance. That's also why the automat
is so convenient.
