RE: Dr. George (T), commenting on Sam the 3D Hacker comparison of
Belplasca and Verascope f40, says his Belplasca results are less
contrasty than Realist. This may be due to larger interior than in a
35mm with more chance for light to bounce around. In the review of the
1965 Canon Pellix the British Journal found that the pellicle non-moving
mirror acted like a flare filter in that all the flarey bounce around
light went to the ground glass and prism view eyepiece and NOT to the
film, as compared to the identical FX camera with moving mirror. They
said the photos showed the difference. They NO degration due to the
pellicle. Modern in reviewing the camera 'imagined' a difference in
favor of a normal camera?
In commenting to SAM I forgot to mention that when I got my used
Verascope F40 and took it apart to clean interior, rf windows etc. I was
horrified at the bright surfaces inside and had just heard about a new
3M Flocking paint and got some and blacked the inside of both the
Realist and Verascope F40 and any other camera I though needed it.
MY Verascope F40 takee good snappy pix now. BobH
