A few of us on this list do this:
Choose which Q-VU mount you are going to use. They come in different
sizes. For full frame prints I use the biggest Q-VU to have the most
image. You probably have the smaller Q-VU X mounts for the Loreo.?
Assuming you are using the smaller X mount size:
Pick the closest object in your picture.
Place the right hand view over the left hand view with the closest object
perfectly on top of each other. If you hold this pair up to a bright
light, you will see that the close objects are lined up, but farther
objects are offset, this is OK.
You now can choose where you will trim the picture. You will trim to a
width of 2 7/8". You can trim anywhere in the 3x5 print area. Make sure
that the prints don't shift while you are doing the trimming, they must
be together , with the near objects over one another at all times.
Now you can take the pair apart. Make sure the right view is on the
right, etc. Turn the pair over and scotch tape the prints together, with
the bottom print edges aligned.
You now have a stereo pair that can be viewed by itself, or mounted in a
Q-VU X.
If you are using the larger Q-VU antique mount, then the trim width will
be 3 1/16". Everything else is the same.
