For the folks that read my comments about "newer" stereo cameras and
the return comments several made, I must tell you that I am now the
proud owner of a Realist 3.5, a red-button viewer, the Realist manual
and a slide cutter and sorter. Have not used them yet due to work
load.
I have read the comments in the Rocky Mountain files on the Web about
taking stereo pictures and mounting stereo slides. And, I downloaded
but have not yet read the two articles on putting two Nikon lite-
touches together.
Last week, Cliff had some wonder about getting women to pose nude. I
saw a follow-up that these pictures were really 2-d although some 3-d
had been done. I would think if one followed the 3-d "rules, these
could be done. In answer to Cliff's question, I would find out who
is doing art in the area. I was taking an oil painting class and was
offered to go to a "live" drawing session. Each person put in $3-5
which was given to the model. We were at a university and a prof was
in the group so there was no room cost. The model did 1, 5, 10 and
30 minute poses. I talked to the model about photographing the poses
so I could work on drawing when class was not being held and she had
no problem with that. I never did do it, however.
I was doing my oil painting with a well known portrait painter in the
area. She often has models at her home to photograph for her
paintings. Anyhow, if you connect with artists, that can open doors
for photo work, if there are questions about how to open doors.
Universities often have similar classes. Some have photography
classes and do, at some time in the semester, nude studies. Allowing
an outsider in would be at the discretion of the instructor.
Another idea, and not meaning offense to anyone, would be to connect
with a nudist camp and/or group in the area. We have a nudist camp
nearby that one of the profs is a board member of. There is a group
in Chicago that goes bowling in the winter as well as other indoor
activities. All--au natural. I went to an art class one time when
we had a male and a female from such a group. They brought cameras
to photo each other posing for us. Although not professional models,
they did pose as instructed.
I do not mean to offend anyone here. I just wanted to say that
models are not that hard to come by, regardless of what kind of
photography you want to do.
Back to the start, I am looking forward to using my Realist and
perhaps enter into some competition to see what others think.
Tim (the other Dr. T)
P.S.---George mentioned a couple weeks ago that I was to other Dr. T.
I told George that there is a cooking school here I do classes for---
about two per semester. They thought it was cute to have a college
prof do a class and then they got excellent reviews of my classes so
keep me on. There, they refer to me as "Dr. T" and I even have an
apron with that on I use in class. As far as I am concerned, that is
there and in this group, George is "Dr. T".
