RBT Format C, Realist Custom

Jon, I need to know more about the RBT format "C" as available on the X2
camera. Is the format 8-6-8 perfs or 8-8-8? I know there is a frame
skipped between the left and right 8 perf images. Is it a full 8perf frame
or a 6 perf? The 14 perf stereo base could be done with the 8-8-8 format by
putting a 2 perf loop between the lenses. Which way do they do it?
Below are sketches of the two formats. You need to configure your mail
reader for FIXED font to view them properly. Otherwise, you must cut to the
clipboard and paste into an editor with fixed fonts available. The line
containing "1L" must be the same length as the lines with the "X" perf holes.
Format "C" or 8perf std base

Frame spacing = 16perf @4.75mm = 76mm
Lens spacing = 65mm by looping film between lenses
Advance = 24perf

Alternate Format "C" or 8-6-8perf std base.

This is important to me because I may not want to mount the slides myself.
There are many wonderful processing services available only to standard
8perf format. These include negative scans to floppy or CD, 1 hour prints,
proof sheets, 2x2 slide mounting, etc. Yes, I recently ordered a proof
sheet from a roll of Realist color negs and they had a lot of trouble
because the negs didn't fit their frames.
About format "B" with the wide 16perf stereo base -could this camera be used
to photograph cats at a distance of 3 feet without a bad hyperstereo effect?
What is the Stereo Realist Custom? Where can I read about it? Is this the
Macro model which splits the 5perf frame into two? It is not mentioned on
the 3D FAQ I just downloaded, only models ST41,42,44,& 45. I don't know
about the ST44 or ST45 either! Still using my dad's faithful ST41, however.
