Allan (Allan Woods), your dialog/rebuttal with/to Dr. T covers very
concisely some of the things I was trying to express (probably not well)
some time back when referring to competition and judges.
Though not stated as such in your message, I see at least an implication
(>>... I only know that you are one and we are many... ) of
intimidation. When we open ourselves to the judgment of others, we can
learn and grow. But the other side of the coin is that we can be
intimidated and forced (ultimately by our own timidity, not really so
much by others opinions) to fall in line. When that happens, creativity
ends.
I used to sign off as "Allan." Then I saw some of your posts and
realized I should identify myself with a last name so as not to be
confused with you. Now, I may want to go back to the old way again. I
don't think I'd mind being associated with your comments. Sorry,
George. :-)
Allan.........
