Realist format close-ups

Hi all,

Most 50s stereo cameras can focus down to 2 1/2 to 3 feet. If I was
trying to shoot close-up portraits, etc., would a Nimslo mount allow me
to get this close without problems? I've cropped Realist slides in
Nimslo mounts and I've used Nimslo mounts for 5 foot medium shots taken
with a Realist format camera. But will the half-frame mount actually
give you enough leeway to get as close as you can focus? This is very
important for me to find out. I may not have enough time to experiment
before I have to shoot a rather critical subject and I don't want to
screw up the whole shoot.

Thanks,
Don
