Yes, do get a light meter...an expensive one!

After going for years without a decent (or any) light meter, and preaching
the sunny day rule in photo-3d and friends and relatives, I finally broke
down and bought a Polaris for $200 from B&H. This fancy little thing
will measure anything and everything. I love this little gadget! I now
recommend that every one gets a good light meter. The more expensive the
better.

That was money well spent! I now feel like a pro. My exposures most
probably have not improved, especially since I have this habit of not
bracketing any shots and only using full-fstops in my camera (I also do not
back up my hard drive)... but, I tell ya, having a funcy digital light
meter hanging around your neck makes you feel gooood...

George, in a nostalgic mood before a big Detroit night....
