Nostalgia

George, sorry you didn't win in Nostalgia. I agree that your slide, and 
the b&w slide of the swings, sounded like they were the best planned and 
best thought out, especially when you said the slides that won, and most 
slides, were of old things. You said,

Maybe the thing that was missing was the person looking at the snapshots, 
instead of just the snapshots arranged on a table. In my mind's eye I saw 
one of those beautiful images of a very old person, maybe somebody in a 
wheel chair, with a beautiful wrinkled face and a sort of glow about 
them. Now I think even better would be an old person looking at an 
old-fashioned stereoscope, with a pile of picture cards scattered on the 
table below. That's nostalgia for sure. (Hey, you could even show that 
the card being viewed was of a youngster running. How's that for adding a 
little schmaltz, otherwise known as pure nostalgia. I mean, if we're 
getting nostalgic, let's go all the way!)
