I checked out your new pages and enjoyed the views. However, there is a
disturbing vertical wave-like parallax distortion running through each one.
I'm sure it isn't the camera, so is it the scanning process? I haven't seen
this kind of distortion before. Erlys, did you notice this in the scans
before posting them? If it's caused by the scanner, you could try placing
the images on the scanner again but rotated 90 degrees from the way you did
it before. That way, the specific misalignment will not affect the depth
factors, only produce a slight horizontal misalignment instead.

In one of the views of the walkway to the beach, the horizon isn't
horizontal. I don't mind it but others may have a gravity fit. I guess
what's disturbing about such a thing is that it's a view as if your head is
tilted, which if you're viewing it in stereo, it isn't. The conflict of
signals between the image and the head position can cause the horizon to be
noticed. In the same image, if I ignore the ocean, I can't tell it's tilted.
You could repair the ocean factor in PhotoShop and the image would be great.

I like the view from your place with the hummingbird feeder, but wish it had
more parallax since most of the scene is way off in the distance. A
hyper-stereo base would help greatly in such a scene.

In "Sanderling" there is somehting floating in the air above and beyond the
dead tree. Is it a kite or a UFO?

Bye,

Larry Berlin
