ER: In praising the "45" who all agree is nice to handle. Erlys says
"there must be a secret to loading a Realist!" There is~

What people today don't know often is that all films had leaders
designed long enough to load in the Leica without jamming. This Leica
cut..full width reached 22 perforations from the end..was the standard
for 60 years or more in 35mm cameras. Then a bunch of Point and shoots
came along (almost as short as the Bolsey 35mm which bragged about the
extra exposures you get because of the short body.) So film makers in
the past 15 years or so have been using a cut that reaches full width
only 8-9 perfs from end. I carry a pair of folding scissors and trim
film to the right cut..the Leica cut and then the Realist loads like it
shuuld, as do the Leica. (Some people fuss trying to force the full
width under the sprocket gear cover or remove the cover..but do it
right. It takes about 10 seconds to trim a film and you can do it ahead
of time. BobH
