Stereo from airplanes

In digest 1543, 9/18/96, Tom Dory mentioned that a "traveling expo"
he had just seen included "amazing hyper shots of the Rockies from
an airplane." The comment was very timely for me, as I had 9
separate days of air travel scheduled from Sept 22 through Oct 12,
and expected to pass over some potentially interesting subjects for
hyperstereos from the air.
On Sept 25 I was fortunate enough to have good weather and good
aerial views of the Grand Canyon and Capital Reef National Parks
and shot several pairs of images. I just got the images last night
and was pleasantly surprised with the results.
On other flights over the next few weeks, I shot volcanoes in the
Pacific Northwest, ice fields and glaciers near Anchorage, and snow
capped mountains in Colorado. All that film has just been sent for
processing, so, unfortunately, I don't yet have any more results to
report.
Thanks to Tom Dory for posting his comment, and thanks to whoever
made the image that was included the traveling expo.
Paul Talbot
