Hugues - what I've ended up doing is to lie flat in bed (in the dark, 
which helps) and balance the viewer without the stand on my
chest/face. It kind of smushes down my nose, but it's relatively
comfortable and so far I haven't fallen asleep!

There was CONSIDERABLE discussion on the VB back when blockbuster
cleared them in May - a search of the archives might be productive.
