Cutting up old magazines

Jamie Drouin and Paul S. Boyer have responded to my post requesting info
on old 3D magazine ads. They were dismayed that anyone would even
consider cutting up old magazines to collect single sheets.
Yikes! I am truly sorry that I stated or even implied that I would
destroy any publication. Yes, maybe some people would consider
periodicals to be less precious than bound books. I, too, am disgusted by
any actions that would defile a book, especially one that is for public
use as in a library. And although old National Geographics are a
dime-a-dozen (as verified by a lifetime of antique and junk-store
browsing) those old 50s "Photography" magazines are quite rare, and I
have yet to find any. Please rest assured that I WILL NOT cut up the
magazine for one ad (are you kidding?? --those magazines are FULL of cool
50s kitsch!), and the articles would be fascinating. Besides, I plan on
scanning the ads for computer fun!
I am not a book killer!
Now that THAT is cleared up ... does anyone have any to sell or trade or
loan?
Archivally yours,
