Actually, very interesting!  Try and get as close as possible.  Try one
picture with and one without flash.  The flash will bring up details
that you might want to see.  Play around exposure for best results.

Not the same but related, one of my slides from casting a huge steel ingot
at work is doing well in PSA salons.  It shows molten steel being poured in
the ingot and sparks in the air, some crossing the stereo window.  I used a
flash at full power and it works well in filling in the details.  Seeing a
human element (operator) helps too.
