Don't disqualify the Realist based on this discussion of light leaks.
Another month you might see a lot of traffic about Kodak shutter problems or
some other camera's problems. Old cameras have their foibles. Most people
solve the light leak problem (if they have one) by carrying the camera in
its case. You do NOT have to reconstruct the camera body to cope with the
light leak.
I have shot approx. 150 rolls of Kodachrome 64 since I bought my Realist
about 4 years ago. I have seen the dreaded light leak on *maybe* 7
exposures in all those rolls. It's rare enough that I haven't remembered to
do anything about it, like find a new case. I think my good luck is due to
1) using slow film and 2)the fact that film doesn't usually sit around in my
camera.
