Yes that is true. A very good one is called FreeLoader and is available
for free on the same site as the free home page at.

You can specify for it to download a list of places you designate and
how many links deep you want it to download and it will do it at the
specified time and then when it's finished you can view it from your
hard drive. Of course this can take alot of hard space if you specify
too many levels of links. It's like taping with a VCR. I used this
to tell it to download all the photo-3d digests from the ftp site
and then I was able to view the archives off my HD.
