I own both a Nimslo and a Realist type camera. The Nimslo was a
good buy years ago at $30 with flash. You can buy a Teco-Nimslo
(which is twice as economical of film and is very nice for
closeups [at extra, but reasonable cost, for closeup lenses])
for, as I remember, $145. One other problem with a Nimslo is
that is fixed focus, so that really distant parts of a picture
are a bit fuzzy. The other other problem is that the picture is
a little narrower than with a Realist.
I looked at a Nishika a few years ago and decided it looked less
well made than the Nimslo, and this seemed to be a consensus in
this group. Nishika itself eventually got in trouble with the
Feds for running a pyramid club or something like that.
Get a Realist, use Kodak Royal Gold print film. Send it to Dale
Labs for slides only, marked "Do Not Mount", mount the slides
yourself, then have prints made for the Holmes Bates viewers.
Addresses in the archives or the WEB site; Dale advertises in
Popular Photography.
Good luck.
