Computer manupulation

Eric, I suggest that you look harder or possibly in different places. This
is a pretty broad statement to make. Every photo student that I graduated
with from college was equally versed (some more, some less) in Photoshop,
Director, Premier, etc. There are tons of people who can do both equally
well.
I also don't believe there exists a photographer that *NEEDS* a computer to
make good images. You can't make a bad image good. We all know that. Much
as we would like to be able to wave a wand over a cruddy print, we can't.

This is actually called a film recorder. At this point I don't think they
are cheap enough to have in the home. But plenty of labs are using them. Of
course, with anything new, negs or slides from computer files are a little
pricey. But it certainly is worth it to be able to see your computer file
on film. And the resolution is good! Many times you can't tell what
processes were used to make the image.

If more *traditional* photographers could just open up a little and try
this medium, they would be as taken with it as those of us currently using
it.
