I have done this with a pair of Minolta X-700.  I don't see why it could
be a problem.

It is more a matter of distance to the closest object and less a matter
of focal length.  One good starting point is that lens spacing = 1/30 x
distance of closest object.

I have had good results at Sea World stopping action with a trainer at
the top of a whale.  I used 1/250 shutter speed, 135 mm lenses and about
6 inches lens separation.
