KIN-DAR
Hi,
For those who read Dalia's INSIDE 3D, I must say I enjoyed Gil VAN HORN's
article on the KIN DAR enormously. I myself like the little beauty a lot and
it was interesting to have some background information and learn about both
Gil's and Charly PIPER's (unfortunatly bad) experiences. The main problem
seemed to be a nasty shutter jam problem. When I bought mine I was told the
shutter could present problems if I changed the shutterspeed once the
shutter was cocked. (This is mentioned in other camera manuals s.a. Realist)
Since for this particular camera the cocking is done automatically,
advancing the film........
So I never advance the film right after taking a picture. I set the
shutterspeed first then advance and fire. When by inadvertance I forget I
just fire the shutter shielding off the lenses, set the speed dial and
re-cock manually with the lever. I never had any problems.
The focuswheel however unfortunatly has some "play" and there is a non
standard flash connection.
I'd like to hear from other KIN DAR users, collectors , lovers etc. There
shouldn't be to many of us since the article mentions there are not to many
of these camera's around.
Best Regards.
Patrick.
