Thanks Bob, but actually, the kudos extend a lot further. The handouts I
distributed were from the mounting section in the photo-3D FAQ,
beautifully worked up by Joel Alpers in Postscript. This absolutely free
downloadable document has the best info on mounting I've ever seen, plus
it has the mounting gauges for all formats-- just print them on acetate
overhead transparency sheets and you're ready to rock 'n roll. Also I let
people look at material from Harry zur Kleinsmiede's pamphlet 3-D Mounting
Guide. I didn't let people keep the material from Harry's pamphlet,
because Harry has the copyright. Harry's 24 page work has a lot of
thought in it. In my opinion it's not really a start from scratch how-to
publication, but rather a tool that helps you learn how to recognize and
correct mounting errors. Unfortunately it costs $10, which is fair
compensation for the effort that went into writing and printing it, but
ten bucks for a 24 page b/w pamphlet (with a nice purple cover!) might put
some off. Even at $10, I'd recommend buying it if you're having problems
getting images properly mounted. I've found it to be very useful, and
there are stereo pairs (computer generated line drawings) of all the
errors and corrections, plus a self test.
