Great, Ive heard that Ray Dream studio is pretty cool. I use TrueSpace2
myself. I really don't know but..... I hear that Ray dream Studio has a lot
of solid modles and more primitives that the normal 5 or 6. If you have any
soild modeling background then you will pick up real fast. (Pro-E, Auto cad
13, etc...) If not then then follow the samples in thier manual and youll do
just fine. Alot of these kinds of programs are simular, rather they have
alot of the same functions. In True Space I work in feet and tenths of feet,
hundreths of feet, down to thousands of feet. In other words 1.000 feet. In
Truespace you can place a virtual camera into you virtual world. Once the
camera is in place you can view thru the camera and compose your picture.
After I have my shot composed I change to an overhead view and measure from
the camera to the closest object, in my shot, to the camera. This is done by
checking the camera's and the object's world coordinance. I divide this
distance by 20. Than I divide that number by 2. This number I round down if
need be. I change my view back to looking thru the virtual camera lens. I
move the virtual camera my final number to the right to make my right image
and then left for my left image. In True space this formual works because
the virtual camera defaults to simulate a 35mm (somewhat, it looks like a
camcorder). In Bryce 2, I havent been able to simulate this yet. Beware of
some layerd textures, they look good in 2-d but play havic in 3-d. In True
Space some stone textures are loosers in 3-d. In Bryce, you create great
landscapes in 2-d. I just finished a lovely sunset 32" X 24" at 300dpi to go
over my fireplace. The clouds mountians and waters are made to look lifelike
by layering textures and colors up to six deep. When you translate to
capture a 3-d image you often create crap. For 3-d I may only be able to use
Bryce2 to create Color maps to import into my other programs.
If anyone out ther is a bryce2 user and has any sugestions on 3-d with
bryce they would be welcomed. If you don't mind I'll post this just in case
anyone else is interested.
If anyone has an ergent message for me please just E-mail me direct Im
usually a little behind in reading the postings.
