I agree with what Greg just said. Slip-in mounts are the worse in terms of
alignment. Heat seal cardboards are OK as long as you can mount slides
accurately in them.
We all would like to see a great stereo projection with perfectly mounted
glassed slides, but let's not get paranoid. There must be a compromise in
terms of quality and expense and inconenience. The compromise IMO are the
well-mounted slides in heat seal (or other cardboard) mounts.
I personally still mount my slides in Albion mounts. For the most
important slides I use glass. But right now I am preparing a number of
slide presentations and just use the cardboard foldover for stiffness.
Grant, no matter what the list says, you should try it and see what you
think yourself!
