mounting fixture

Paul Ivester says:
"... the mounting must be accurate. I use a fixture that I built which ...
allows moving the slide from side to side... Magnifier lenses above the
slide allow viewing the slide in stereo while adjusting the window. I then
tack the film chips in place and then heat seal the mount."

Paul,
I'm very interested in your setup also. I've thought for a long
time that the best way to set a stereo window, or for that matter,
to get an accurate mounting job overall, would be to use a live-action
device where one could watch the window and the masking in real
time, as the chips were being mounted. My eyes are too far-
sighted and too aged to be able to see the window accurately
without optical aid, so I end up trying a setting, putting the trial
into a viewer and seeing how close it is, then making adjustments
and trying again. Can you share a diagram or a detailed
explanation? _______________________________________________________________
