I started off trying a "one-one thousand,..." approach to hit my estimate
of a desired 2 second interval, for images taken from cruising altitude.
When I hit on the idea of more than two images, I wanted to try four
images two seconds apart each, for a total elapsed time of 6 "counted"
seconds (I know from experience my one-one thousand is not very accurate.)
For some reason, I found myself waiting more than two counted seconds
between the second and third images (completely unintentional) So it
ended up being more like 2-3-2. In my experience, by the time you get
close to 10 seconds the image has shifted too much to view comfortably in
a twin 2x2 viewer. I don't know if it would still work mounting your own
in a Realist format, though. I tried to be a little quicker on shots from
lower altitude. I think this would also depend on the focal length of the
lens. (I looked at the formula posted recently, but haven't "learned" it
yet!) My 28-85 is broken, so I only had my 70-210 to work with. There is
also a discussion of timing for aerial hypers in the FAQ, I think. I read
it after all my trips, though!
Good luck! I'll be interested to hear your results!
