lenticulars

I picked up a copy of Look magazine from 2/25/64, with the Edison
lenticular. The accompanying article claims that the process used (not
called lenticular but 'parallax panoramagram') was developed by Eastman
Kodak and Look photographer Arthur Rothstein; and that the general manager
of Look 'determined' to develop the process back in 1950; and furthermore
that only two such cameras had been built. It is described as "the first 3d
photo ever reproduced in mass quantities by any publication anywhere", which
seems somewhat overstated.
Were these the first lenticulars?
I wouldn't want to inflame collector's angst in anyone...so if you haven't
seen these, they are 4 x 5, B & W, very limited depth & resolution, browned
with age (maybe from the cheap paper on either side of them). They depict a
bust of Edison & some of his inventions, so the subject is quite interesting.
