Bob Weir made a very cool find on Bladerunner...one of my all time fave
movies.....

....another sighting of a stereoscope was in a movie I have seen many
times....another all time fave....with Peter Sellers in his last role before
his umtimely death...BEING THERE.

The scene is where Sellers... as character Chauncy Gardner, is in his guest
room at the estate of Ben and Eve Rand, Ben is one of the wealthiest men in
the US. Eve (Shirley McClaine) is his gracious wife...who, by "chance and
circumstance" befriends and takes in as a guest, Chauncy...a simpleton
housekeeper who likes TV and gardening, found suddenly out on the street
without a home, for reasons you need to see the movie to understand.

In this scene, which is a howl, again...I wont explain as you must see in
context.....Chauncy is in his guest room watching TV, EVE appears at the
door is in a beautiful evening robe, walks in to Chauncy's room. Chauncy is
hypnotized by the TV program...and is glued to the TV watching MR Roger's
Neighborhood....and Mr Roger's is showing and explaining what a stereoscope
is!!!!

How jazzed I was to pick up that obscure little 3-D reference.....especially
after seeing that movie...perhaps....five times....before 1989, and not
noticing that detail, which I realized only after Ron Labbe showed me my
first stereo image....I went WOW...and never looked back with one eye again!
