******** I'm sure glass mounted slides have a potential for overheating
since the glass would prevent convective cooling of the film chip. The glass
would let in the light and even IR but prevent built-up heat from escaping.
Even in a relatively cool projector, glass mounted slides could get warmer
than open mounts, so there would be reason for caution. Best solution for
glass mounted might be limiting any projection time very strictly.
One reason solar heating is effective is that the glass covers on the
collectors let in the radiation and trap the heat within the collector.
