I'm sure several people here will have observations about this question, but my
initial response is that if you have any interest in doing serious photography,
2D or 3D, you should NOT get a camera with auto-anything that cannot be
overridden! Auto functions are great whenever the picture you are taking is
perfectly normal in every way, but this makes for a rather dull repertoire of
snapshot-type images. There are many, many shot set-ups in which you'll find
yourself fighting the auto settings. You'll definitely want manual override
sooner or later.
