I have tried taking 3D in caves before, and have discovered how helpful
ambient light is.

Be sure to use the most powerful potato masher you can find, locate it
at least a meter to the side of your lenses, and use one or two
additional slave flashes.  If glare is really a problem, you could try a
polorizing filter, but that will add to your exposure problems.

I have always wanted to set my camera up on a tripod, and try multiple
flashes.  Unless there are animals or standing water, most objects in
caves seem to remain motionless for a very long time.
