Cool!

I couldn't resist trying the flatbed scanner technique on my
lunch hour. It (HP ScanJet 4c) worked great.

Nothing fancy, I scanned once on the right side of the scanner,
then moved the object (a Christmas ornament from a co-worker's
desk) about 2 inches to the right for the second scan. I did
drape a sheet of white paper over its back-side but it didn't
seem to do much.

Results are excellent. Now I've just got to bring some cool
stuff to work to play with tomorrow.

Is there a central location where we could show off this "new"
3D art-form? In other words, does someone have a web site with
too much free disk space? ;-)

Good fun! Highly recommended!
