TDC Brightness (500 vs 750w.)

To muddy the waters a bit (or perhaps to clear them):

George T. (or was it Dr. T.?) wrote of his unexpected brightness
measurements when comparing 500 vs. 750 w bulbs in the TDC.  Is
there a possiblity that power supply to projector may have reached
its limit?  George/Dr. T mentioned a slow-starting motor and maybe
a new extension cord, too.  With all this, could you end up drawing
too much current than can be supplied, thus limiting the output of
the 750 w bulbs?

Just a thought.
