Introducing Peter H. Fowler
- From: P3D James R. Motley <ex836@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
- Subject: Introducing Peter H. Fowler
- Date: Sun, 29 Dec 1996 17:16:33 -0500 (EST)
About a year ago, I corresponded by snail-mail with Peter Fowler
after I read his article in the July/August 1995 STEREO WORLD
titled "When Stereo went for a Spin". Perhaps other Photo-3D
subscribers enjoyed that article and the excellent viewcards as
much as I did. Other STEREO WORLD articles by Peter in recent
years include "Mrs. Robert's Big Day", March/April 95, and the
featured article in the May/June 94 issue titled "A Guided Tour
of the Centennial Exhibition".
At that time Peter did not have good e-mail facilities. However,
I recently received e-mail from Peter telling me that the
situation had changed and he would be happy to converse on the
web with others with interests similar to his. Rather than
trying to paraphrase his letter I obtained his permission to
attach it to this introduction. BTW, Peter lives in North Bend,
Oregon. Even though it looks a long way from Portland, some of
you members of the Cascade Stereo Club may want to let him know
about the club's activities.
I have given Peter info on how to subscribe to Photo-3D should he
so desire.
Best Regards....Jim Motley...ex836@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Peter's letter follows:
Dear Jim,
You have certainly forgotten by now that we corresponded about stereo
cards of spinning wheels (which my wife collects). You may remember a
couple of articles I wrote in `Stereo World'
You kindly invited me to get involved in stereo sites on the web (I
think that was what you meant) and at the time I was not `wired'.
After a long battle with a recalcitrant computer and a change of
service provider I am now, as permanently as changing technology and
economics permit, established as:
fowlers@xxxxxxxxxx
My wife collects spinning and related subjects in stereo and I
collect: Centennial Photo Co of the 1876 exhibition
Anything by Timothy O'Sullivan

Interesting early viewers
You mentioned having dificulty finding time for everything after
retirement. What I can't understand is how I ever found time to go to
work. As well as collecting antiques, trading in old spinning wheels
(know anyone interested in an 1830 Shaker great wheel?) I have a
mini-career going as a freelance writer.
I would be happy to converse on the web with anyone with similar
interest.
Regards
Pete
