John Arrowsmith writes about troubles with using Sensia 100 film at 1/100
@f8, finding the results underexposed. I too have had that trouble with
Sensia, which, according to the box, should be the same sensitivity as
Provia, but seems in fact to be a full stop less sensitive. (I don't know how
people who actually know something about cameras would phrase that last
comment, but hopefully, you know what I mean.) In fact, I used to bracket my
shots a half-stop in either direction and that barely helped. I shoot the
vast majority of my shots indoors, under the illumination of a movie set, and
use strictly Provia 100 at 1/50 at f/5.6 using my Vivitar 283 flash and I
rarely get a mis-exposed shot anymore. I get the feeling (again, not really
knowing anything about cameras) that Realists (or at least the two I have)
need to be open a full stop more than either Sunny 16, the film box or a
light meter say they should be.
