I had been keeping mine on display without passing judgement on whether
the eagle was alive or not, just as an example of lenticular 3D to show
to people. One reason to think it might be stuffed is that every live eagle
I've come across (even tame ones) seems to have what could best be described
as a baleful glare - as though debating what size bite would be best to
take out of the viewer. This one seems to have a more introspective look -
and therefore seems a little less natural.
I *have* heard of a hologram being taken of a live owl in mid-flight(!)
I imagine it took a fairly intense light source to do it. :-)
For those who would like to see live raptors at work, they can sometimes
be seen at renaissance/medieval fairs. I went to the one in Virginia
last year, and there were several being exhibited. A falcon dove toward
a bait being swung on a string - between attacks it shot through tree
branches, just cleared rooftops, and so on. I got there for the end of
the show - there was an owl on exhibit, but I don't know whether it did
any flying. The falcon moved so fast that it would be quite a challenge
to get a good 3D photograph.

I'd be interested, if they're not all committed already.
