|Well, I dropped the screw I had removed from the flash holder on the
|camera, and spent 30-plus minutes sweeping the floor and feeling
|dust but to no avail! They didn't have the right screws either (I did
|buy the broom, though).
Grant - Been there, done that (as they say). If you can get ahold of one,
locate the strongest magnet you can find and sweep the floor with that.
(if it's carpet, run it across first on the surface - if that doesn't
work, "scruff up" the pile and try again).
This is such a common problem for me with little teeny tiny components
that I bought a 300lb pull magnet from Edmund Scientific specifically to
locate dropped components (at least those which are ferrous). It works
pretty well, except if I put it down on a metal table top, I have a @&@*&
time getting it loose again :-) (plus they warn you not to pinch your
fingers when it gloms onto the table). It's also real useful if you turn
over onto the floor a box of nails/bolts/screws, etc.
On the screws - you might check with an optical shop, you might get lucky
and find some eyeglass screws that fit.
