Anaglyph 3D videos

There are three or four available commercially, and they are all
consistently terrible. Don't waste your money. Not only are they among the
poorest films ever produced in 3D, but anaglyph 3D works so badly in NTSC
television that you can barely detect any 3D effect at all. For the record,
Robot Monster and Cat Women of the Moon are available in anaglyph VHS, and
are fairly widely distributed and easy to find. The Mask (not the Jim
Carrey film!) contains 3D sequences, and is also pretty widely available.
The Three Dimensions of Greta, a British T&A film with 3D sequences, is
also available on VHS, and the 3D is so miserable I defy anyone to see even
a hint of depth. There's also the laserdisk (not the VHS) of Nightmare on
Elm Street, Part Something which has the last ten or fifteen minutes in
almost unwatchable anaglyph 3D. Many years ago, Universal released awful
anaglyph videos of Creature from the Black Lagoon and It Came from Outer
Space. They were so bad they were pulled from the market within weeks, but
copies still float about. I think that covers them all.
