Dr. George A. Themelis writes (or is it Dr.T????)

>Yeap! That's right! I did say 7p Realist!!! I am now the proud owner of
>the first 7p Realist of the modern era, thanks to master engineer and guru
>machinist John Slivon.

Yes I remember John mentioned he had converted Realist's to 7p a few
months ago here on P3D. This I found very interesting of course. But
don't get me wrong, I am very happy for you and can see you are excited.
But for the life of me I don't understand why. Why did you send your
realist for conversion. This seems almost like you have converted
religiously or was that seriously. Or then again is this another
hoax perpetuated by Dr.T to discredit Honest gABE? Then again maybe
it's the aliens! Anyways here is what the real Dr.T had to say about
7p awhile back in one of his earlier works. (no I didn't get his book)

Below is a repost of Sept.3,1996

Gabriel writes

>>>That is also why I like full frame, for the bigger size. Now according
>>>to personal preferences I think that bigger is better. I think anyone
>>>would agree that given the all things being equal (quality, etc.)

The real Dr.T replied

>>60 in. In a Realist slide I can come closer and have the image

Which I replied

>Which brings me to your comments about being able to project a
>Realist format on a 60 in. square projection screen more fully than a
>full format, yes that is true but that is not fair since you are using
>a square slide with a square screen. How about changing to a rectangular
>wide screen, then see how the Realist stacks up on it.

In another post on Sept.4, 1996

I write

>>format stereo views.

Dr.T writes

>If you put the medium format aside and go back to Realist vs. full-frame

Now for my comments. George does that mean you will be offering your
services to convert all red buttons to accomodate the 7p better with
a rectangular lens. Is this part of a (promoting the 7p Realist)
campaign to convert everybody to 7p because you got a secret stock
pile of ridiculously cheap rectangular lenses on the surplus market?
I have to admit that in the above post Dr.T had also mentioned that
he likes both the 5 and 7p but he did not mention which one he likes
best! After stating my preference for 7p or full frame, he mentioned
5p is great and that I should try it. Well now lets see who is trying
it. ;-)

Today you mention

>Plus, it is very pleasing to view Realist 7p slides from my custom-7p-
>modified Realist camera using my custom 7p modified Realist viewer!!!!

Hmmm interesting, considering how your so picky regarding viewers and
you comments awhile back (see above). What about the stereo window your
so fond of seeing. Will you see it above. How about edge distortions, etc.

>PS. For cheap 7p Realist viewer conversion, contact me.

No contact me, and you will get a 8p viewer conversion. For the P3D
members and new members, just a reminder that I can convert your
cheapo red Tyco view master to 4p,5p, or yes even 7p, for very little
cost. Yes it's possible, with no change in the optics. I had commented
about that awhile back, when George which was skeptical about. (I can
imagine he is skeptical about my latest projects, then again maybe he
is a wiser man now. :-) ) Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for you
George as I mentioned before, it's just I don't understand this about
face, after lecturing about the merits of 5p. I guess you will be selling
your 70 inch screen for a rectangular one!?

Sincerely
Gabriel, would love a 7p Realist.

P.S. Anyone has a Realist 7p for sale? Now that is something to crow about. :-)
