A real 3D T-Shirt, well sort-of (was 2D 3D shirt).

I wasn't going to bother mentioning this, but for Christmas I received
a 3D Tee-Shirt. It has printed on it several planets with fractal
images on each surface, and other `outer-space looking' images. And,
of course, it came with cardboard viewing glasses - but not the
red/blue or polarized type. Instead the lens are clear although there
is a fuzzyness sort of like looking through a defraction lens. I don't
remember the name of the technology off the top of my head, but I'm
pretty sure it is the same system used a year or so ago by Burger King
for some comic book give aways. It appears to work by making things
colored red appear closer and maybe blue things further away - although
I'm not positive about that. The effect works moderately well with the
Tee-shirt graphic, but they failed to sew a special pocket on the shirt
to carry the glasses around! ;^)

It's interesting to look at arbitrary pictures and magazine ads using
these glasses. Serendipitous color combinations sometimes result in
very strong 3D images. Hmmmmm, depending upon the color schemes used by
the "Rabbit Hash Kentucky 3-D Photography Club" on their tee, this
could be a good gimmick to increase the sales of the shirts!

                                                        Later.....BC
