A lenticular image is generally an image that lends itself to being
viewed from different angles. I am in the process of creating a "Who's
who?" board for my company's lobby of all the employees with lenticular
pictures. The main reasons I chose this format are that 1.) people get
bored quickly when viewing 2D images, and 2.) no viewers are required.
When the viewer comes up to the board, no matter if they are 4 feet or
6 feet from the image, it will show them"a" stereo pair, as they move
side to side to se other images, they will notice that their
perspective changes on all the images, (in effect, switching stereo
pairs), and they will be able to see a different version of the same
image. Although nothing is animated, the whole board will be "alive"
with a sort of "motion". Those reasons alone make the system viable for
me. =) Hope this helps a little bit...
