Snow

Has anybody out there seen a phenomenon I call "snow donuts"? I remember
one year at school it had snowed about 4-5 inches, warmed up a bit during
the day & then got cold and windy. The snow had crusted just a bit (ya
know, good snowman snow) and then during the evening the wind had lifted
and curled the top crusty layer of snow making "billions" of little snow
donuts. This occurred in Athens Ohio (Ohio University) sometime in
January or February of 1977. I remember it because I had a superb slide
of one of these close up with a field full of them in the background.
Unfortunately, the slide was lost in the dozen or so moves I've done since
then.

Has anyone ever seen this phenomenon? Does anyone have any 3D photos of
such an event? Does everyone think I'm hallucinating?

Thanks & regards,
Ron
