George, I'm afraid I must disagree that 7-perf slides are rated higher
in judging than the 5-perfs. You need only look at last nights results
for proof - the First and Second Place winners were both 5-perf slides.
I have been working with 7-perf cameras for about 6-7 years now, and I
have NEVER seen any inherant advantage when having my work judged. (I
suppose I wish I did have some advantage - but it's never worked that
way.) Sometimes, I've even shot subjects with both my 5-perf and
7-perf cameras, and more often than not, I enter the Realist format
version when I have a choice! I do like the extra room that 7-perf
format provides and I enjoy working with it, but I will never go so
far to claim that the format has helped my scores.
