It's not just all of a sudden, Liquid Crystal shutter glasses have
been referred to as LCD glasses for a LONG time - as long as I can
remember (and I've been using them since 1988).

I often use the term LCD glasses but have always felt a bit 
uncomfortable with it.  I agree, they are not displays and this
commonly causes confusion with Head Mounted Displays (HMDs)
not that they could really be called glasses.

Probably a better compromise is to use the term "LC shutter glasses".
This is upward and downward compatible :-)  

I'll try to use the new term from now on.  Maybe we at photo-3d
can set a precedent.
