Becker Stereoscope Repair

I have a Becker stereoscope (for you "Realist types", it's a box stereoscope
that holds 50 or 100 stereo views that rotates inside the viewer),  that
needs repair.  The wheel band inside has broken and i am looking for a
material and info on how to repair it.  I'm sure one of you out there has
come across this problem and found a fix. I'd sure appreciate any info anyone
