Custom Realist

I called Ron Zakowski, (he and his wife assembled half of the 2500 Custom 
Realists ever made) and he said that it probably is a Custom Realist
that has had the slower shutter speeds installed.  He said that the serial 
number is not out of line because, when the Customs were made they 
pulled from the best of the stock that they had at the time.  Some of the 
bodies were made earlier but not painted till later.
As far as the lenses are concerned, he said that the rare earth lenses don't
have the words "rare earth" on them.  Another point that seemed to assure
him that they were truely "rare earth", was because they had the aperature 
numbers on the top of the lens, not on the face.

He is a very nice man, and was happy to help me.

Well I hope this clears up the mystery.
